Our pediatric rehabilitation team is specifically experienced in treating children.

The hospital also provides families convenient access to specialty care for children with cardiac conditions and orthopedic problems through its outpatient clinics.

Who may need Pediatric Rehabilitative Services?
Children with:

  • Learning Disablities
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down's Syndrome
  • Spina Bifida
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorders
  • Problems with Sensory Processing which may have resulted in over/under activity, withdrawal or sensitivity to touch, movement or sound

Why does my child need therapy services?
  • Early identification and treatment can be key in the development of language, social, emotional and motor skills
  • To help the child adjust to new and challenging situations or environments through behavioral strategies
  • To improve attention, self-esteem and skill development necessary for learning and school performance
  • To develop fine and gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, general strength and endurance necessary for play and learning

Are Services Covered?
CMH is approved by many insurance carriers. Other financial arrangements can be made by speaking with a financial counselor.

Who are the staff?
The staff are qualified Occupational, Physical and Speech-Language Pathologists who are specifically experienced in treating children. Special Occupational Therapists are available with training in sensory integration theory and treatment techniques. Our therapists are qualified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) as well as a variety of other pediatric developmental and language assessments.
